We are committed to these goals:
- Providing good quality food direct from the producer, mostly from within a radius of 10 miles of Harkstead.
- Being a focal point for our community.
- Providing food that the community wants – so people can do a full range of food shopping at the market.
The Market is a venture run by the Harkstead Village Hall Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). It is managed and organised by a group of volunteers. There is a Market co-ordinator and a dedicated group who erect and dismantle the tables and provide the refreshments.
The Market was launched in 2003 and February 2018 marked our 15th birthday. During that time the market has grown from strength to strength. It is used by all members of the community and is now the place to food shop, meet friends and have fun on a Saturday morning.
Plenty of free parking and refreshments available in a relaxed atmosphere.
The perfect place to have a day out, visit the market, walk by the beautiful River Stour and call in to The Baker’s Arms.
Harkstead is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty [AONB].
